One very serious issue with safety lighting is that they run off batteries and in adverse conditions these batteries do not run at their peak optimum. This causes lights to dim and that could spell disaster for the user in a critical situation. More effort needs to go into the designing of lighting to insure that those who are in need have the light they need.
Those who comment on battery life issues know all too well how serious these issues are. One recent comment from a member of a think tank indicated that there were not only issues in adverse weather with the battery life and dimming, but also with diffraction of the light taking place in mist, high humidity, fog or rain. So those battery comments and the issues of humidity or even cold weather or very hot is where your basic Duracell Batteries fall way short and thus the electromagnetic induction makes more sense.
In other words if we cannot trust the batteries; then we cannot trust the light and with that said, we need engineers and designers to be cognizant of the challenges that those face in the real world. Police, first responders, military, astronauts, security professionals all work in adverse environments. And if you have ever been stuck at night with a blow out in the weather or dark of night you too have experienced this problem.
There are slow issues with Dizziness, because that is an issue with human vision, light and motion, so a proper safety light engineer needs to look into that too, as well as the diffraction of the light in the fog at night. Although LED Light will be better for this, it still has the basic issues of physics to deal with. And if we are going to build a better mousetrap in a safety light, then we must consider these issues. I encourage those who design flashlights, safety lights, mounting brackets, batteries and alternative energy sources for such things to work hard and push forward to making a unit that is truly safe for the human race a reality we can all count on. A thermometer is an instrument that measures the temperature.
Depending on what country you live in, temperature is measured
either in a scale called Fahrenheit or Celsius (sometimes called
Centigrade). There are thermometers for food, humans, and the
weather. You can even make a thermometer yourself, it’s simple.
Here’s what you’ll need: - Water (plain old tap water will do
just fine for this experiment.) - Rubbing alcohol - 1 clear
plastic bottle with a narrow neck - Food coloring in your choice
of color - See-through plastic drinking straw - Modeling clay.
Pour equal parts of the water and alcohol and a couple of drops
of food coloring into the bottle (the liquid should only fill up
about a quarter of the bottle.) and give it a shake to mix. Drop
the straw into the bottle (it should touch the bottom) and plug
the opening with the clay. That’s all there is to it. Now it’s
time to make sure your thermometer works. What happens when you
place it in direct sunlight and the liquid becomes warmer? If
your thermometer works properly, the colored liquid will rise up
through the straw. In fact, if the liquid were to become
extremely hot, the liquid would most likely come out the top of
the straw.
Bring your thermometer outside with you, how does the colored
water react inside the straw? Does it go up or down? Run it
under warm water and then cold, the colored water will react
accordingly. Of course this isn’t an accurate measure of water
temperature, and there’s no way of telling how hot or cold the
water actually is, but this should give you some idea of how a
thermometer works.
Making a thermometer is a great rainy day craft for kids. It’s
easy, quick and in most cases involves items found around the

Knowledge of Dynamic VLANs and VMPS is important in your efforts to pass the BCMSN exam and earn your CCNP, and it’s also a great skill to have for your networking career.
As a CCNA and CCNP candidate, you know how and why to configure static VLANs. Static VLANs can be a powerful tool for reducing unnecessary broadcast and multicast traffic, but if hosts are moved from one switch port to another, you’ve got to make those changes manually on the switch. With Dynamic VLANs, the changes are made – how else? – dynamically.
The actual configuration of dynamic VLANs is out of the scope of the BCMSN exam, but as a CCNP candidate you need to know the basics of VMPS – a VLAN Membership Policy Server.
Using VMPS results in port VLAN membership changes being performed dynamically, because the port’s VLAN membership is decided by the source MAC address of the device connected to that port. (Yet another reason that the first value a switch looks at on an incoming frame is the source MAC address.)
In my home lab network, I’ve got a host connected to switch port fast0/1 that resides in VLAN 12. What if we had to move Host 1’s connection to the switch to port 0/6? With static VLANs, we’d have to connect to the switch, configure the port as an access port, and then place the port into VLAN 12. With VMPS, the only thing we’d have to do is reconnect the cable to port 0/6, and the VMPS would dynamically place that port into VLAN 12.
I urge you to do additional reading regarding VMPS. Use your favorite search engine for the term configuring vmps and you’ll quickly find some great official Cisco documentation on this topic.
To review, the VLAN membership of a host is decided by one of two factors. With static VLANs, the host’s VLAN membership is the VLAN to which its switch port has been assigned. With dynamic VLANs, it is dependent upon the host’s MAC address.

Allow me to carry this topic further, please. How is it that a skilled neurologist can tell me every, detailed thing about my brain, but she cannot possibly know what’s on my mind? If the neurologist conducts surgery on my brain, she can see and name all the parts. She can diagnose, patch-up, and make a prognosis about my mental health, but she cannot know what’s in my mind. Why? Because there is more to me than what appears physically. I am a soul in a body because I am created in the image and likeness of God. And God is Spirit.
If there is more to man than what is physical, then a man needs to recognize and maintain good spiritual health. Is this possible? Yes, I believe so. Just as one must care for his physical well being, so one must care for his spiritual well being. If the soul is neglected, one will ache inside and not know what is bugging him. One will yearn for things that cannot be found in the natural or physical realm. The yearning will never cease. Scripture teaches that the spiritual realm is more “real” than the physical. As a matter of fact the physical realm is fading, according to the laws of physics (measured by entropy); however, the spiritual realm is everlasting, eternal.
But don’t take my word for it, like I’m some expert in metaphysics. You may taste and experience new life for yourself. You don’t have to study interminably about the soul. You don’t have to take someone’s advice on how to experience the supernatural. You may come to the Water of Life and drink freely for yourself. Jesus is the Water of Life. Jesus is the Bread of life. Come and dine. Jesus is more than supernatural. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the First and the Last. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is Redeemer, and He will save your soul.
To taste is to know.

But one thing is for sure.
This years best rated laptops all seem to have one thing in common. They are all called Apples!
Apple has taken this honor from several leading computing and electronics magazines, and the trend in sales seem to suggest that consumers are feeling the same way about them, as well.
Laptops such as the apple powerbook and ibook have helped apple stand tall among the major players in the computing world.
In 2004 alone, apple announced that it had an overall net income growth of 300 percent. That equals to a profit of $295 million in the last quarter. And if you are a stock holder that certainly must put a smile on your face. I know it does for me, and a number of my friends.
Single computer model sales are also showing the same trend. For instance, the ipod desktop version disappeared off the shelves at the rate of 4.5 million per year. The imac tripled its sales!
Apples share of the international market may still be lagging behind, though. Dell still has top honors with 18 percent of the world market. HP comes in a close second with 16 percent. And in a distant third, IBM brings in 6 percent of the share.
Apple can put a dent in those figures though with the press they have been getting lately. In fact, apple won the 2004 Readers Choice award for the brand with the most impact on an international scale. It had beat out Google, which had been the winner of this award for two years running.
No matter what awards for best rated laptops or what percentages of the world market that apple acquires over the next few years, you can be rest assured that apple will continue to put out the innovative products that they are known for.
Just take a look at the software that is featured on apples laptops and desktop computers. Such admiration of application design as iphoto and itunes make apple so popular just because these programs are so useful and yet they are so easy to use.
See if you can say that about the software that comes standard with most other mp3 players or digital cameras. It’s this powerful but symplistic design that makes apples some of the best rated laptops available today.
One other point I would like to make. In 2006, we will see Apples with intel chips instead of the current IBM chips. Will this improve the performance of the apple laptops and computers, I don’t think so, at least not right away. But it will possibly help apple to grow and expand in the market.
In the future, I believe you will see vast improvements in performance with this change making apple computers and laptops even better than what’s available today.
